How to Recycle Holiday Gift Baskets?
A Gift Basket after its usage it can be used for several purposes
Holiday gift baskets are great to receive, and the items that they contain are typically well enjoyed. But, eventually, the bath salts are gone, the chocolates eaten, and the holiday gift baskets are emptied. But those elegant, sometimes over-decorated contraptions are too good to toss away. What to do with them? Here are some ideas of ways to use holiday gift baskets when the goodies are gone.
1. Mail: Use emptied out holiday gift baskets as a mail collector. Set it by the door on an elegant but small end table. As mail comes in, you can add it to the basket until you have time to go through it.
2. Toiletries: Place empty holiday gift baskets in the bathroom on a shelf or corner of the vanity. Use it to hold odds and ends such as hair ties, makeup, hair brushes, or small bottles of lotion.
3. Flower Pens: Purchase some inexpensive plastic flowers, sturdy green tape, and a package of BIC ink pens. Place the flower alongside the pen so that the blossom is over the top. Wrap the green tape around it to tack it in place. When the pens are finished, arrange them neatly in the empty holiday gift baskets for a unique table centerpiece that is beautiful and practical.
4. Silverware Holders: Use empty holiday gift baskets to hold silverware during pot luck dinners or buffet style dinner parties.
5. Napkin Holders: Use empty holiday gift baskets to store or display linen or paper napkins for dinner parties or for display on a side board.
6. Dinner Rolls and Biscuits: Line empty holiday gift baskets with a linen napkin. Place hot dinner rolls or biscuits in the baskets and cover with another linen napkin. Used holiday gift baskets are great insulators when used with the linen napkins, and will keep your rolls and biscuits piping hot as they are passed around the table.
7. Keys and Other Odds and Ends: Place the decorative empty holiday gift baskets around your home for storing odds and ends such as spare keys, locks, screws, brackets, and other items. This will give you a convenient place to store these things, while allowing them to be conveniently out in the open. At the same time, they are not unpleasing to the eye because of the lacy baskets.
8. Remotes: Place the decorative empty holiday baskets on your coffee table or end table in your living room or family room. You can store remote controls, spare batteries, and TV Guides in the basket. They will never be lost, and you can display your beautiful holiday gift baskets for your guests.
